5 Recommendations - Fall 2021

While we have our ‘go to’ favorites, we’re always exploring and trying new things during our time at Sullivan’s Nest. Here’s a list of some recent ‘first time finds’ that we recommend checking out during your stay:

1. Little Palm Bar

Hip, cozy, quaint, trendy. All words to describe Little Palm. Grab a seat inside at the bar or, if you’re lucky, grab a poolside seat and enjoy your favorite cocktail. We recommend the Seven Day Weekend or Green Light.

2. Doar Bros.

Located on Meeting Street. Doar Bros probably doesn’t seat more than 25 people inside. But if you can snag a spot, the craft cocktail list is exceptional. Order the Bourbon & Clyde. It’s exceptional.

3. Miller’s All Day

Lower King is full of boutique shops and antique stores. Miller’s All Day lives by the belief that ‘the best days start - and end - with breakfast and a great cocktail.’ The wait can be long - especially on the weekend - so be prepared for that. If your party is small, you can try to squeeze in at the bar. Once you’re in, grab a $2 Miller High Life and order the waffles. But you can’t go wrong with anything here.

4. USS Yorktown Ghost Tour (Bulldog Tours)

We recently took this 90 minute ghost tour of the USS Yorktown. It’s part history / part ghost tour. While it’s not particularly ‘scary’, it’s a fun way to spend an evening and get a little history lesson while you’re at it.

5. Kayaking on Shem Creek

Head to Coastal Expeditions on Shem Creek and rent a kayak for an amazing afternoon on Shem Creek. There’s plenty of great routes to take - you can head towards the Charleston Harbor or meander the other direction to see some beautiful homes.
