Best Places To Grab a Drink

  • Get a Gamechanger at Home Team BBQ (Sullivan’s or Downtown)

    • The Gamechanger machines at Home Team are constantly flowing. What is it? It’s a frozen alcoholic drink that includes orange, pineapple, coconut, and a splash of nutmeg…with a ‘little bit’ of rum. The Gamechanger is called that for a reason - it goes down easy and then then ‘changes your game.’ It’s a must-try if you haven’t had one.

  • Frose at The Co-Op (Sullivan’s or IOP)

    • Another frozen drink. The Co-op offers several flavors. Perfect for a hot summer day. If you plan to take on the beach, do it at your own risk…but definitely bring a YETI or something like that to ‘hide’ it in.

  • Doar Bros (Downtown)

    • Located on Meeting Street, Doar Bros might seat 20 people total. So it’s small, but the bartenders here are mighty good and they’re true experts at their craft. It’s mesmerizing to sit at the bar and watch them make drinks. The menu changes seasonally. Here’s our tip: get a reservation for a drink at Doar Bros an hour before your dinner reservation time. There’s often a line of people waiting to get in when they open at 5.

  • Little Palm (Downtown)

    • Exceptional decor and design…and a fun spot. If you’re looking to do some people watching, grab a seat at the bar overlooking the pool. It’s got a lot of energy, especially when it’s warm out. But either way, the bartenders here know what they’re doing and it’s a fun place to grab a drink before or after dinner.

  • Gin Joint (Downtown)

    • A great little bar on East Bay Street.

  • Market Street Pavilion Bar (Downtown)

    • One of the more popular rooftop bars Downtown.

  • Rooftop Bar at Vendue (Downtown)

    • One of - if not the - original roofop bar in Charleston. One of our favorites when we’re Dowtown.

  • Moscow Mule at Rarebit (Downtown)

    • If you are a fan of the copper mug Moscow Mule, then you need to have one from Rarebit.

  • The Bar at Husk (Downtown)

    • If you are a bourbon or microbrew connoisseur, then this could be your heaven. No one in the region has a wider selection rare and top notch bourbon. And on top of the selection, the building itself is amazing. It’s a tight space, but it’s worth it.

  • Shem Creek: Tavern & Table / Saltwater Cowboys (Shem Creek / Mt P)

    • Lots of options here. Grabbing a drink overlooking Shem Creek makes for a great way to start an evening…or end one.
